Culture Days - September 23 to October 16

Culture Days is a national celebration of arts and culture. Each year in the fall, millions of people attend thousands of free participatory arts and culture events across the country both in-person and online. Culture Days programs invite the public to get hands-on and behind-the-scenes to highlight the importance of arts and culture in our communities. Visit https://culturedays.ca/en/events?province=sk to find a directory of events in Saskatchewan.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

On September 30, 2022, SMFA will recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (which coincides with Orange Shirt Day) as a statutory holiday. This day honours the lost children and survivors of residential schools and their families, and endeavours to acknowledge and better understand the history and harms done.
On National Day of Truth and Reconciliation Day, and every other day, we encourage everyone to take the time to learn more about the true impact of residential schools and to find ways to address the Calls to Actions on their own reconciliation journey.

We are Treaty people.

Creative Kids

Creative Kids connects children and youth to unique, life-changing artistic and cultural experiences in their community. They provide financial support to Saskatchewan families so all kids have an opportunity to participate in creative activities like drama, art, dance, heritage, and music.
