Message from the CEO

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and I wish you and your families all the best for a great 2019.

As you can see in this final newsletter of 2018, we continue to make great progress towards Curl BC's Vision 2020 Strategic Plan. Here are some recent highlights:
  • CBC Sports has agreed to stream the playoff games for the BC Juniors, BC Women's and BC Men's for the next five years.
  • Shaw Spotlight will continue to provide TV coverage of the same events as well as the BC U18s.
  • belairdirect renewed their sponsorship of curling in BC for another five years.
  • Optimist International, led by Al Kersey, generated another $15,000 for youth curling projects in the 11th year of its annual Curl BC raffle. Buy your raffle tickets now!
  • Connect Hearing became the title sponsor of the BC Masters for the next three years.
  • BC Gaming's recently renewed Capital Project Grant program contributed over $460,000 to four clubs.
  • Community Gaming grants were accessed by 33 clubs in 2017-18 thanks to the leadership of Jack Bowman. Start getting ready now for the next intake, which opens on March 1st.
  • The Federal Government's New Horizons seniors program was accessed by a record five BC curling groups in 2017-18 for a total of $85,000.
We look forward to hearing how we can help you take advantage of some of the programs and opportunities above. In the meantime, best of luck with the second half of the 2018-19 curling season.

Sincerely,
Scott Braley
