Vehicle Communication Gateway

The VCG-1 Vehicle Communication Gateway is an easy to configure, multi-port, multi-bus message routing and data translation device. Designed to normally operate standalone, it can help bridge multiple modules as systems transition to newer communication busses and technologies, such as CAN-FD and Automotive Ethernet. It has the ability to run user written scripts to process the messages and data it routes, allowing it to connect multiple modules together using different protocols and physical layers.

An updated version of CANary (version 1.3.4) and CANary FD (version 1.2.4) firmware has been released. In addition, an updated version of the J2534 PassThru Library has been also been released, version 1.1.10.

An updated version of VISION Calibration and Data Acquisition Software has been released, version 6.0.4. This release includes many functionality improvements, and it is recommended that users who use MDF4 recording file types update to this latest version.

New Kvaser U100 with USB C

Now available via ATI, the new Kvaser U100-C. Many of the latest laptops and PCs come with USB-C slots only, so Kvaser has introduced a U100-C to the U100 range of robust, single-channel CAN/CAN FD to USB interfaces. The U100-C is based on the standard U100 with DB-9 connector, but replaces the standard USB type “A” connector with the smaller USB-C format. As with other devices in the range, this is powered via the USB.
Robust, galvanically-reinforced, signal and power isolated, the Kvaser U100 range offers enhanced electrical protection, a vibration, shock and drop-proof housing and high-quality cabling that establishes a new reference in CAN interface design.

The VCG (Vehicle Communication Gateway) allows users to bridge multiple modules and busses including CAN, CAN-FD, LIN and Automotive Ethernet with this single, innovative, easy to configure standalone data translation device. The VCG will host user-developed programs for applications such as node simulation, watchdog timer functions, CAN to CAN FD translation and more.
