We are in constant awe of our community - your passion, your drive, and your kindness in lending a helping hand to fellow female entrepreneurs.

There is one person near and dear to us that embodied all of these traits throughout her career - Phyllis Hoffman DePiano, the Founder of Hoffman Media. When Phyllis passed away earlier this year, the world lost a passionate entrepreneur, a fiercely devoted friend and mentor to many, and most importantly a dedicated mother to one of TSC’s dearest friends - Brian Hart Hoffman.

Brooke Bell said it perfectly when she said “You knew when Phyllis entered the room because it lit up with her wit, sass, savviness, always on-point instinct, and grace.”  We couldn’t agree more. A past Summit speaker, Phyllis was one of our most loved presenters.

It is with great love and appreciation, that we announce the annual Phyllis Hoffman DePiano TSC Summit Scholarship sponsored by The Southern Coterie.

AIM of Scholarship

The Phyllis Hoffman DePiano Scholarship aims to award a female entrepreneur whose passion and drive echoes the qualities that made Phyllis a powerful voice of creativity and love.

About Phyllis DePiano Hoffman

“When Phyllis Hoffman DePiano founded Hoffman Media in 1983, she set the course to impact the media world and inspire women and creatives everywhere. She followed her passion for the cross stitch craze of the 1980s by starting a magazine at her dining room table with three other women and $500 each. That was the beginning of a publishing company that would grow to encompass 11 brands and magazine readers around the world.”
- Brooke Bell

More about Phyllis’ phenomenal life and contributions to the creative world can be read here in a beautiful tribute written by her son Brian Hart Hoffman.
