On behalf of the 2021-2022 Junior League of Long Island Board, I would like to welcome everyone to our 70th year.
Since 1951, The Junior League of Long Island has been empowering our women volunteers to develop programs and cultivate relationships with organizations in the area to improve our community. We welcome our volunteers to collaborate, develop new skills, refine their leadership skills and experiment with new things in a safe and encouraging environment.
Our mission is to promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women, and improve the community through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. We welcome all women who want to make a difference in their community through volunteering and activism. Together we are an unstoppable force.
As we strive to return to the days of pre-pandemic, we will have our work cut out for us, but our membership has continuously been able to tackle and conquer any obstacle put in their way. This year has given us the tools to think outside-of-the-box, innovate and redesign. It has also given us the chance to reflect, allowing us the opportunity to get “Back to Basics”. I invite you all to join me this year to get back to the basics and embrace the year ahead!
I am incredibly honored and humbled to be working alongside such a powerful group of women. May we continue to engage, empower, encourage, and educate one another. Thank you for your unwavering dedication and service.
Wishing you and your families a wonderful summer! Hope to see you all very soon!
With warmest regards,

Carol St. Jacques
President, 2021-22

JLLI Congratulates Eagle Scout William Dunlop
|
|
The Junior League of Long Island had the great pleasure to work with William Dunlop, of Boy Scout Troop 204 Miller Place, this past year in preparation for his Eagle Scout Ranking. William effortlessly was able to fundraise, build and install 4 Free Little Libraries. William was also able to secure 2 of the 4 installation locations; Sunshine Prevention Center and Island Heart Food Pantry. This week William earned his Eagle Scout Ranking!
William embodies all of the traits of an Eagle Scout and more.
Honor – He so honorably came to our rescue with this project
Loyalty – His devotion to seeing through this project from start to finish
Courage – He courageously worked with an organization of a lot of women, with lots of personality!
Cheer – He was always were smiling and kind, through the entire process
Service – He served the community by bringing these little libraries to full fruition.
The Junior League of Long Island congratulates William on this high honor!
