League News!

On December 5, members attended the Champions for Charity kick-off event held at Tory Burch and used the power of shopping to support The Junior League of Long Island!  Thank you to everyone who attended!

Our annual December Coffee, Cookie Swap and Ugly Sweater Party was held on December 11. Our gracious hosts were Ashley Cohen (morning) and Joan Yonke (evening).  Thank you Ashley and Joan for your hospitality!

On December 18, JLLI participated in Project Toy with the Family Service League and Huntington TriCYA. Project Toy benefits over 6,000 children and teens by gifting their parents toys to put under their tree. This was a special, do good, feel good event!

JLLI held Super Saturday on January 11. Thank you to everyone who joined us!  We were thrilled to meet many wonderful women interested in the important work JLLI does! Thank you to the Membership Development Committee for a great day.

The January GMM and "Night Out with Deirdre O'Connell" was held on January 15 at Roslyn Social.  Deirdre, past JLLI president, led a discussion about her life after JLLI. Thank you Deirdre for sharing how Junior League experience can transfer to the professional world!  It was such a fun night celebrating our voluntarism and the work we do!

The 2020 CSF Application is live and available under Member Resources on Digital Cheetah.  The application deadline is April 15, 2020.  For questions, please contact Cristine Bruno at finance@jlli.org

Thank you for supporting JLLI!

Thank you to our members, friends and partners for supporting The Junior League of Long Island Annual Appeal and Giving Tuesday campaigns.  To date, the League has received $2,330 in donations!  These campaigns are a vital source of funding that allows the league to carry out its mission and support a variety of needs, including materials for community programs, speakers for leadership trainings and upkeep of our building that houses the Thrift Shop, our year-round fundraiser vital to JLLI’s sustainability.

Save the Date!

Human Trafficking Awareness Month

January is #HumanTraffickingAwarenessMonth. Throughout the month of January, JLLI is participating in a campaign to raise awareness and advocacy around human trafficking. Every day, children are bought, sold, and exploited right in front of our eyes. During #HumanTraffickingAwarenessMonth and year round, we're committed to opening the eyes of community members about this heinous crime and the survivors that walk among us every day. Learn more: https://abolishmovement.org/

Tracking Success and Impact: Fundraiser Return on Investment (ROI) Scorecard
January 29, 2020 | 1:00 PM  REGISTER NOW
Featuring: Toni Leeth, Associate Dean for Strategic Planning and Administration, University of Alabama at Birmingham & President-Elect, Junior League of Birmingham (AL)
Mary Anne King, Assistant Planning Vice President, Junior League of Birmingham

Nonprofit organizations need tools to evaluate their fundraising efforts and ensure these continue to meet their needs in funding their missions. The Junior League of Birmingham (AL) developed a return on investment scorecard to measure the success and mission-related impact of their many different fundraising activities. Whether you have a few major events or many different types of fundraising efforts, this tool works to give you the information your League needs to make good, data-driven decisions about League fundraisers.
Wishing all of our members born in January a very happy birthday!

ACTIVE MEMBERS: Jennifer Grasso, Joanna Miller.

SUSTAINERS: Natalie Dejoux, Lucinda Mullin, Sally Timko, Heather Adams, Elise Terranova Jusko, Katherine Ryan Jollon, Nicole Corron and Kathleen Murphy.

If you have a birthday in January and your name is not listed, please let us know by
