 Dear JLLI Members,
On behalf of the 2020 - 2021 Junior League of Long Island Board, I would like to welcome everyone to our new League year!
I am excited and honored to serve as President this year. JLLI is a very special organization that works to create positive changes in our local communities, spearheading projects and programs benefiting Long Island women and children for nearly 70 years!
In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and social unrest our country is facing, we will continue to strive to meet the needs of our members and our communities in meaningful ways. We have our work cut out for this year and it will require innovative, out-of-the-box planning, but I know our membership will find ways to carry forward our mission and our legacy of leadership.
I thank each of you for your dedication and service and look forward to working alongside of you for another exciting year. We can. We will. We are the Junior League of Long Island!
Wishing you and your families a healthy and happy summer!
Warmly,
Stephanie Kearns
President, 2020-2021

For the last few years Junior League of Long Island has donated Birthday Boxes to
Birthday Wishes of Long Island, which distributes them to children in shelters so that they can celebrate their birthdays. Thanks to the generous donations of some of our members, we were able to purchase Mickey Mouse themed plates, napkins, cups, forks, balloons, hats, tablecloths, candles, juice boxes, cake mixes and icing for 12 birthday boxes, and drop them off during Birthday Wishes’ re-opening week. Thank you Alicia Aguilera, Jennifer Grasso, Tina LiRosi, Morgan Rooney, Zina Kennedy, Joan Yonke, Remi Farnan, Cindy Dwyer and Laura Glass for your donations!

With so many still out of work, Long Islanders have been struggling to provide enough food for their families. Since the onset of COVID-19, food insecurity has risen by 70%, as more people turn to food banks for assistance. We've partnered with two regional food banks, Island Harvest and Long Island Cares to host a Virtual Food Drive.
Just click the link and you'll be able to shop for food that will go directly to the food bank of your choice. https://yougivegoods.com/jlli

The JLLI Thrift Shop re-opened in early June. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our volunteers and members, the Thrift Shop is looking better than ever! We encourage all members to come down and shop! Check out this video of the store's new and improved look!
The Thrift Shop is accepting donations. Due to COVID-19 we are following safety guidelines issued by the CDC and taking donations on Tuesdays and Thursdays by appointment only. Please call 516-218-1477 to make an appointment.

Generous Donation from Marshalls

The Junior League of Long Island received a generous in-kind donation of Easter decorations and merchandise from Marshalls in Huntington Station, NY. The donations will directly benefit our Thrift Shop fundraising efforts. Many thanks to Marshalls for their generosity and to our members who volunteered to pick up and transport the donations.
