MEET THE ARTIST, RALPH FUGATE
Ralph Fugate is a self taught professional sports artist specializing in thoroughbred horse racing. His unique blend of “impressionistic realism” using bold vibrant colors has his work in high demand.
Ralph is an Eastern Kentucky native of Breathitt, KY and the father of two beautiful children, Abbey (age 21) and Jack (age 19). As a child, Ralph always loved to draw, but did not create his first painting until the age of 25. Additionally, in 1990, Ralph played basketball at Lees Junior College in Jackson, KY where he set the all time state collegiate record for most consecutive free throws ever made without a miss! It was just a few years later that he would discover his gift of painting and never look back. Besides his art, Ralph also performs as a motivational speaker/basketball magician for public/private schools with inspiring testimony of Never Giving Up.
He’s always had a passion for horse racing and illustrates on canvas the sheer beauty and power of the horses, the colorful silks, the enthusiasm of the crowd, and excitement of picking a horse and seeing how it finishes!
