COVID-19 forces cancellation of District Festivals and 2020 Provincial Finals

Effective March 15, 2020, the Saskatchewan Music Festival Association Board of Directors advised that all festivals be cancelled IMMEDIATELY for the 2020 festival season. This difficult decision was made in order to protect our stakeholders and general population from exposure to COVID-19, and to limit the spread of the disease. Due to the uncertainty of time lines, rescheduling of 2020 festivals will not be possible.

With the cancellation of the majority of our District Festivals, the SMFA Board of Directors also made the decision to cancel the 2020 Provincial Finals.

Please refer to the District Festival pages for cancellation confirmation for each festival.

National Volunteer Week in Canada

We salute our volunteers, who keep Music Festivals alive in 47 locations across Saskatchewan! Each year we are proud to join our District Festivals in acknowledging individuals who have given above and beyond to their organizations. Thank you, and congratulations, to these recipients of the 2019 SMFA Volunteer Award.

Larry Johnson  March 30, 1943 - March 1, 2020

With great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Larry Johnson on March 1 at the age of 76 years. Larry was well known
to many of our District Festivals as the developer of the Music Festival Organizer software. He dedicated countless hours to
supporting festival volunteers until his retirement in the fall of 2019. SMFA is proud to have recognized Larry's contributions with
a Distinguished Service Award at the 2019 Fall Conference. Our hearts go out to Larry's wife, Donna, and their family.
