Dear Students,

During these unprecedented times, the Montana University System’s foremost priority is the safety of our students, faculty and staff. We recognize there are other issues of importance, financial and otherwise.

This afternoon, Montana State University Billings was provided direction from the Montana Commissioner of Higher Education on the process for our residence hall students to request pro-rated refunds of their room & board for the remainder of the spring 2020 semester, if they move out of the residence halls due to the COVID-19 situation.

For students who don’t have an alternative housing arrangement, they will be able to remain in the residence halls until the end of the semester. They may be relocated to other areas of the residence halls in order to comply with social distancing guidelines.

On March 25, MSU Billings will disseminate a plan outlining the steps and process for students to request a pro-rated refund for room and board fees for the period of March 23 -May 1, 2020. Once the request has been approved, MSU Billings will process refunds no later than April 15, 2020.

MSU Billings Housing & Residence Life will provide additional information early next week. All updates and announcements can be found at msubillings.edu/covid19central. Should you have questions in the meantime, please email housing@msubillings.edu. We appreciate your patience as we navigate through this situation.

Sincerely,
Office of the Chancellor
