FINAL CONFERENCE BULLETIN

The H2020 project "PLOTINA. Promoting gender balance and inclusion in research, innovation an training" is coming to its end, and it is holding its Final Conference, "Regendering Science. For an inclusive research environment". The Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences at Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna is hosting the two days Final Conference, where  120 people from several European countries, inlcuding academics, policy-makers and representatives of NGOs to discuss the issue of the promotion of gender equality within Research Performing Organizations, gathered to learn about the results of the project as well as to share knowledge and experiences related to gender equality in research and research organizations.
 
The morning of the first day of the conference was devoted to plenary lectures, where various experts from both the Plotina project and other gender experts and representatives of other European projects related to gender equality spoke about gender related issues.

After institutional greetings by Università di Bologna authorities and the introduction to the conference by PLOTINA project coordinator Tullia Gallina Toschi, Rosi Braidotti offered an enthusiastic and provocative keynote speech and ended up receiving warm applause from the audience. Then, Federica Roffi, from the Research Executive Area, gave some interesting keys and best practices in H2020 Gender in the SwafS programme..

In the afternoon, the conference took place in four parallel sessions, with the aim of dealing with more specific issues in greater depth. One of them was devoted to "structural and cultural change: Gender Equality Plans and efforts"; two session were related to "the inclusion of the sex / gender variables in research", each of them centered on a specific scientific speciality, and the fourth one compiled experiences about "the inclusion of the sex / gender variables and of gender equality issues in teaching curricula".
