Love is in the air

Hello Cambria Neighbors,

February, what a fun month for celebrations:
♥️Valentine's Day
♥️Cambria Film Festival
♥️Welcoming New Neighbors
♥️Celebrating our Beautiful Cambria!

I am thrilled that Cambria Neighbors Club is a part of this wonderful community to create an avenue to offer programs and activities for our members.  I encourage all our members to extend an invitation for any new friends and neighbors to explore Cambria Neighbors Club.  All are welcome.🌞

Cambria offers many opportunities to help people get involved in creative and fun activities.  Just wanted to say that Cambria Neighbors Club is one of the best! "We Rock! "

Our January program was presented by Cambria Historical Society. I would like to say thank you to Janet Cooper our Program Chair for arranging our January program.  What a delight to hear Consuelo Macedo and Melody Coe give such an informative and interesting program on the sinking of the  USS  Montebello.  If you want to learn more about the history of Cambria, California , feel free to go to Cambria Historical Society's website. and see links below.

What a wonderful surprise to have 33 members attend our first ever Zoom meeting . It was fun to see our friends and neighbors via Zoom. We encourage you to invite your friends, new friends and acquaintances as guests to our Zoom meetings.  All current members and guests are welcome!

I would like to give a big applause to Jackie Hogan, our Webmaster, Janet Cooper and Marissa Powels, our Program Chairs, for their expertise and diligence in bringing us our first ever Zoom meeting.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone at our next Zoom meeting on February 18, 2021 @ 12:30 p.m.

See you soon!

Topic: Fiscanlini Ranch Preserve

Kitty Connolly, the Executive Director of the Friends of the Fiscanlini Ranch Preserve, will speak at our February meeting. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 18th at 12:30PM.  Kitty’s talk will focus on the natural history of the ranch and future plans to insure it’s preservation.

Kitty Connolly joined the Friends of the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve in January 2020 after years of visiting the Ranch while on vacation. Her work experience includes six years as executive director of the Theodore Payne Foundation for Wild Flowers & Native Plants in LA and 14 years at The Huntington Botanical Gardens as a botanical education and exhibitions specialist. She got her start in museums at the Smithsonian Institution after teaching sciences at a variety of colleges and universities. She holds a B.S. in environmental zoology from Ohio University and a M.A. in geography from UCLA where her focus was disturbance in forest ecosystems. FFRP brings together her experience in non-profit and education with her academic training in ecology, all on one of the most beautiful places you could live. Restoring the Ranch to its natural state is her personal goal.

Kitty will take questions and comments following her talk.  Please plan to join us on Thursday the 18th for the opportunity to meet Kitty and hear about the natural history and future plans for the beautiful and unique Fiscalini Ranch Preserve.

Your board members have been hard at work, practicing their Zoom skills in anticipation of a virtual CNC meeting in 2021.
We want you to practice too!

If you still need help, please contact First VP-Co-Chair Marissa Powels at She will try her best to help get Zoom downloaded on the device of your choice as well as set up a practice session with one of our board members.

 — Lunch Bunch VIII (ate) had a Zoom meeting on February 2. We had nine out of 13 members attend. It was a lively group with lots of fun things to talk about as well as showing appreciation for one another. Zoom meetings will continue until we can have lunch in one of our favorite restaurants. Bon appetit, Cheryle

 — Book Club VIII met yesterday (all three of us!). We will meet again early March. We finished American Dirt by Jeanine Cummings and will start Sold on a Monday by Kristine McMorris. We are open for new members! Mary Murphy

 — Book Club VII has met and selected their Book selections for the rest of the year. Now, that’s the way its done!  Good job to Cindy Stiles Book Club.

Lunch Bunch 4 had a nice, long ZOOM get together on the last day of 2020. Even though most of us didn’t eat ‘lunch’ we caught up on the last 10 months of everyones lives. One of us has moved to Orange County while another lives in Goleta. We promised to stay well and positive in 2021 and look forward to warmer weather so that we can meet outside.
