President's August Letter

Dear Cambria Neighbors,
Our July speaker, Randy Schwalbe, director and author of the Cambria Follies, presented us with a fabulous program which included a lively skit and songs performed by Chelsea Conner and Joel Cehn with the assistance of our co-program chair Janet Cooper.

What will surely be a stupendous presentation this year, The Wizard of CambriOZ, will be premiering on August 26, 2022 and will run for six days. For those of you who are interested in attending the Follies, contact the Lions Club of Cambria or visit the Chamber of Commerce which has tickets available for sale.

August 18, 2022 will be our annual August wine tasting event located in Harmony. Wine tasting presented by Harmony Cellars and yummy food by Soto’s True Earth Market. This is going to be a fun summertime event.

EXCITING NEWS about upcoming monthly programs. Our program co-chairs Marissa Powels and Janet Cooper are revving up for our yearly Arts and Craft Fair located at the Cambria Pines Lodge in the month of October, 2022. Artisans and Craftsmen from our CNC membership will be participating as well as persons who are outside our club membership. Interested in participating? For further information refer to the CNC program section of this newsletter.

I never get tired of saying this nor having heartfelt thoughts when I say, Cambria Neighbors Club members are the very best! The enthusiasm, support and joy each and everyone demonstrates with your participation whether at our luncheons, group activities or just being you means so much to me as well as to our CNC board members. Though a simple thank you just doesn't seem enough, I will simply say thank you.

An overdue thank you and appreciation to our board members as well as activity coordinators that lead the various Activity groups such as Book Club, Lunch Bunch, Wine Divas, Garden Club and many, many more activity groups is way overdue. Our CNC activity groups are where more of the Magic happens with new members as well as members who have participated for many years. Want to explore a new activity or renew your interest in one? Refer to our Activity section in the newsletter and/or contact CNC Activity chair Edna Alexander for further information.

My wish is for you to stay healthy, happy, most of all safe throughout your journey each and every day.

Wine Tasting at Harmony Cellars

Our annual wine tasting luncheon will be held on August 18th at Harmony Cellars Winery, a family-owned business committed to producing fine wines at affordable prices.  Founded in 1989 by Chuck and Kim Mulligan, the winery has grown from a 2,000 case micro winery to a 7,500 case boutique production facility.
Harmony Cellars, situated on a hill above the village of Harmony, continues a family tradition dating back to the late 1800s. Kim's great-grandfather, Giacomo Barlogio, a founder of the old creamery cooperative in Harmony, used to make homemade wine in his basement. Today's winery sits on a part of Giacomo's original land holdings; land that's been in Kim's family for four generations.
Lunch will be catered by Soto’s True Earth Market followed by a guided wine tasting that includes a complimentary wine glass and truffles.
Parking at the winery is very limited.  Please carpool if possible.  Due to the restricted parking, we are asking you to request a spot near the winery only if you or a passenger has mobility issues.  Otherwise, please park either along Harmony Valley Road or outside Harmony Village.  If you would like to reserve a parking spot at the winery, please request it when you submit your payment.  If you do not have a reserved parking space, drivers may take their passengers up the hill and drop them off before parking the car.

Cambria Neighbors Club Arts & Crafts Fair 2022

The 2022 CNC Arts & Crafts Fair promises to be an exciting and well-attended event!  The fair will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 between 11AM-3PM at the Cambria Pines Lodge.  Building on the success of the 2021 fair, plans are in place to include additional vendors, musical entertainment, and food and drink available for purchase by the public.  Both indoor and outdoor tables will be available for displays.

For CNC club members and non-club members wishing to reserve a display table, please contact Marissa Powels at for an application form. On the application you will be asked to specify how much display space you require (six and eight foot tables are available), whether or not you will be bringing a tent or canopy, and whether you prefer to exhibit indoors or outdoors.  Please share this information with other local artists and crafters who might be interested in participating.
What a fun luncheon.
