2023 District Grand Assembly

The first weekend in February traditionally is our District Grand Assembly, but this year it was the first time we all came back together in Benidorm for 3 years due to the impacts of the pandemic.

For those making the event into a weekend, Friday evening we were treated to an educational talk from Bro. Mark Smith, who you may recognise from BBC’s Antiques Roadshow and who is also a Mark Mason and a friend to our District.

An informative talk was followed by the official start to the weekend with a drinks and canapés reception giving the opportunity for Brethren and their partners to rekindle friendships that haven’t had the opportunity for the last 3 years.

The Grand Assembly commenced on Saturday with the District Grand Master R.W.Bro. Barrie Mansell welcoming over 250 attendees. These included M.W.Bro. Dominique Paquet who is the Grand Master of Mark Master Masons in France, distinguished guests representing several Provinces and many from our own District that had travelled far to attend.

The DGM delivered his annual address, which concluded with a rapturous applause (copy of which can be found via this link).

A point we all look forward to at the Assembly is seeing those Brethren that have been promoted or received their first District rank. This year was no different as the DGM and his team conferred the appointments with a personal congratulations to each. (A list of 2023 appointments can be found here)

Concluding the day, Brethren attended a joyous Festive Board where they were treated to a plentiful 4 course meal.

Friends of the Mark

As part of the District Grand Assembly weekend, a day trip was organised for Friends of the Mark who are unable to attend the assembly. This year was a bumper attendance of over 70 partners and friends who were treated to a trip to the Turron Museum. Whilst there, they had time to browse in the factory shop, tasting the produce and having the opportunity to purchase any favourites.

The trip included a stop at restaurant La Cova in El Campello, where a meal similar to the Festive Board at the assembly was enjoyed by all.

2023 Mark & RAM Road-trip

Our District Grand Master, along with a delegation of officers will be travelling in official capacity to various meetings and events within our District where all Mark and RAM members are invited to join.

Gran Asamblea de Distrito 2023

El primer fin de semana de febrero tradicionalmente es nuestra Gran Asamblea de Distrito, pero este año fue la primera vez que todos volvimos a estar juntos en Benidorm en 3 años debido a los impactos de la pandemia.

Para aquellos que hacen del evento un fin de semana, el viernes por la noche tuvimos una charla educativa del Hno. Mark Smith, a quien pueden reconocer de Antiques Roadshow de la BBC y que también es un Mason de Marca y un amigo de nuestro Distrito.

Una charla informativa fue seguida por el inicio oficial del fin de semana con una recepción con champán y canapés que dio la oportunidad a los Hermanos y sus compañeros de reavivar amistades que no han tenido la oportunidad en los últimos 3 años.

La Gran Asamblea comenzó el sábado con el Gran Maestro de Distrito R.W.Bro. Barrie Mansell dando la bienvenida a unos 250 asistentes. Entre ellos se encontraba M.W.Bro. Dominique Paquet, que es el Gran Maestro de lois Maestro Masones de la Marca en Francia, distinguidos invitados que representaban a varias provincias y muchos de nuestro propio distrito que habían viajado de lejos para asistir.

El DGM pronunció su discurso anual, que concluyó con un aplauso entusiasta (copia del cual se puede encontrar a través de este enlace).

Un punto que todos esperamos con interés en la Asamblea es ver a aquellos Hermanos que han sido promocionados o han recibido su primer rango de Distrito. Este año no fue diferente, ya que el DGM y su equipo otorgaron los nombramientos con una felicitación personal a cada uno. (Una lista de citas de 2023 se puede encontrar aquí)

Al concluir el día, los Hermanos asistieron a un alegre Ágape Festivo donde fueron invitados a una suntuosa comida.

Amigos de la Marca
Como parte del fin de semana de la Gran Asamblea de Distrito, se organizó una excursión de un día para los Amigos de la Marca que no pueden asistir a la asamblea. Este año fue una asistencia extraordinaria de más de 70 socios y amigos que fueron invitados a un viaje al Museo Turrón. Mientras estaban allí, tuvieron tiempo para curiosear en la tienda de la fábrica, probar los productos y tener la oportunidad de comprar cualquier favorito.

El viaje incluyó una parada en el restaurante La Cova de El Campello, donde todos disfrutaron de una comida similar a la Junta Festiva de la asamblea.

Viaje por carretera de Mark & RAM 2023
Nuestro Gran Maestre de Distrito, junto con una delegación de oficiales, viajará en capacidad oficial a varias reuniones y eventos dentro del Distrito de España, donde todos los miembros de Mark y RAM están invitados a unirse. Los eventos planeados para febrero, marzo y abril están a continuación y si desea asistir, no dude en ponerse en contacto:
