Parlez-vous transportation?

Over the course of my career, I’ve seen a lot of retirements, buyouts and end-of-year farewells.  Most recently, I have seen an unusually large number of deeply experienced public servants make the jump to the private sector, and it had me wondering … Where do they take all that experience?  Well, we hope that they come looking for us.
 
Why? First, because we look for professionals that speak “transportation”. Industry lingo fluency says that we understand your business and we don’t need to get up to speed to start working on your projects. The vocabulary of any industry is unique, and your ability to easily engage with the people who are considering your firm is a differentiator that should not be underestimated. 
 
For example: When someone mentions a frog, does it conjure up images of a tailless amphibian from tenth grade biology? If so, you’re probably not in the rail industry (a frog is a piece of track that allows two tracks to join or cross).

Christine’s expertise includes remedial investigations; federal, state and local permitting; engineering design and construction phase services (CPS); sustainability; and resiliency. Marine Tiger is proud to be a member of the WSP team that has been selected to provide Program Management Oversight (PMO) for the 5-year Capital Program currently underway by Northeast Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad Corporation (“Metra”). Metra is one of the largest and most complex commuter rail systems in North America, moving 74 million passengers annually through its 242 stations over 11 routes in the Chicago metropolitan area. Metra is investing approximately $2.5 billion to renew existing rail infrastructure and facilities, bringing them to a state of good repair. Marine Tiger will support planning tasks, including the development of a model for prioritizing capital projects. Metra has been a Marine Tiger client since 2017, when we helped develop their Transit Asset Management Plan (TAMP).
