Clinical Research Challenge (CRC)
P1 and P2 students, this is your chance to compete to represent UGA in ACCP's national Clinical Research Challenge on February 4th at 7pm! You do not have to be a member of SCCP to participate—everyone is welcome! Teams of three will be given a clinical pharmacy article to review and then answer a set of questions based on the article and the top team will move on to the next round to represent UGA against other schools. Clinical Skills Competition
The Clinical Skills Competition hosted by SNPhA on February 10th at 6pm is open to active SNPhA members to show off their pharmaceutical knowledge. This educational opportunity is a great CV booster, and winners will get their ticket to the SNPhA regional conference paid for! Choose a partner to help counsel a patient on their new and existing medications. So if you haven't paid your SNPhA dues yet to become a member, now's your chance to get the most out of your membership!

Guest Speaker 
AMCP will be hosting Dr. Soumya Vishwanath on Tuesday, February 8th during Org Hour. Dr. Soumya Vishwanath is a clinical consultant pharmacist at University of Massachusetts Medical School – Commonwealth Medicine. She is originally from Cary, NC and attended the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill for her undergraduate studies. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree, she attended Mercer University College of Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia. She completed a one-year PGY-1 managed care pharmacy residency at University of Massachusetts Medical School - Commonwealth Medicine. In her current role, she serves Medicaid clients with formulary management and value-based proposals. Her professional interests include digital therapeutics, women’s health, and behavioral health.

AMCP Guest Speaker 
AMCP will be hosting Dr. Walter Smith on Thursday February 18th during Org Hour. Dr. Walters-Smith is responsibility for the clinical consultants and clinical strategy for the Public Sector and Fee-for-Service (FFS) Medicaid Government Markets for Clinical Consulting at OptumRx. She works with shared services to make customer-specific clinical recommendations that help with formulary management, improved care and cost-containment goals. Business goals include strategic planning and development of pharmacy initiatives, supporting pharmacy growth and client retention, and account management through clinical pharmacy and medical integration. Nafesa has over 15 years of pharmacy benefit, pharmacy consulting and leadership experience. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Florida A & M University. Previous professional experiences include a variety of pharmacy roles, including a managed care pharmacy residency at Kaiser Permanente, primary direct patient care services, clinical program deployment and Clinical Pharmacy Manager of ambulatory specialty care services. Dr. Walters-Smith is an active member of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and several other professional and civic organizations. She has served and participated in several pharmacy benefit discussions and provided continuing education lectures. In addition to service on several boards, Nafesa has received several professional awards. Dr. Walters-Smith has also published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist.

Roundtable Networking Event 
IPhO and AMCP are excited to bring you our annual networking round table event! We are working to bring different pharmacy professionals from industry and managed care backgrounds together for this great networking opportunity. This event will give you the chance to converse one on one with these individuals in a relaxed setting. We would like to gauge interest so we can plan accordingly. Please fill out this FORM by Sunday, February 7th at 11:59PM if you would be interested in attending. Filling out this form is non-binding, and you do not have to attend the event. We will send out an official registration form for the event at a later date.
UGA Miracle Fundraising Competition

Women's Health Donation Drive
The SNPhA Women’s Health Initiative is holding a donation drive from this upcoming Monday, January 25th to Friday, February 12th. All donations will go to the Athens Area Homeless Shelter. There will be a donation box located in Pharmacy South with a QR code that will allow you to be entered into a raffle to win a $10 Starbucks gift card! There will be 3 winners and each item donated is an extra entry. Spring Membership Drive
The National Community Pharmacists Association is holding our Spring Membership Drive during the next few weeks to give anyone who is interested in community or independent pharmacy as well as pharmacy entrepreneurship/ownership the opportunity to join if they missed out during the Fall semester. We will be holding several meetings and COVID-friendly events this semester, so if you are interested, be sure to signup using this LINK. The deadline to join is March 1st!! 
Clinical Diabetes Interest Form
This year, the Student Diabetes Club hopes to establish a new Clinical Diabetes Competition! This will be a low stress, fun way for you to practice your clinical diabetes skills.
