Choices: Pathways and Classes
Edison High School’s Course Catalog is designed to introduce students to options for graduation pathways, advanced/college credit aligned classes, elective classes, and general education classes. Students have their first opportunity to review the catalog in Advisory before break, and to do a bit of early planning for next year.
Pathways: We encourage students, particularly those entering 10th and 11th grade to select or create a graduation pathway. Read about pathway options in the catalog linked below. Selecting a pathway provides opportunities for student to pursue their passions and focus their studies. It also means graduating with a unique set of skills they can speak to, demonstrate, and continue to develop after High School.
Classes: School Counselors, English Language teachers, and Special Education teachers will make sure that students have all the required classes needed for graduation, but there is still lots of room for student choice and voice. Students should review the catalog, make a list of preferred classes, ask questions about options (teachers, Counselors, Case Managers), and then make their selection in January. While not all requests can be honored, we make every effort to place students in classes that align to their interests and future goals.
