Parent Drop Off: Keep it Moving!
With more and more families choosing to drop their students off in the mornings, traffic congestion and dangerous driving on 22nd Avenue has become a big concern.
Please keep these Parent Drop Off procedures in mind:
Students should exit cars immediately upon arrival at 22nd Avenue. Please do not sit on the road for more than a few seconds. Keep it moving! If you need more time, drop off on Quincy.
Only drop off on the Edison side of 22nd (one-way drop off). This will allow traffic to move down the avenue.
Watch carefully and pull out slowly after drop-off. Too many folks are narrowly missing an accident because they are not using caution when driving away.
If you need to get another driver’s attention, tap the horn—don’t lay on the horn. Honking is very disruptive to our neighbors.
Beginning soon, staff will be out front directing traffic to ensure safety for our students and community members. Please respect their directions.
With your help and consideration, we can have a peaceful and safe morning drop-off.
