It's time to say goodbye to 2022 and hello to 2023! I am SO looking forward to this year. It's sure to be a magical one.
First of all, I'd like to thank you all for being here. Thank you for following and supporting my work. It means the world to me. Extra huge thanks to everyone in our Patreon community. And extra extra huge thanks to our 23rd Mind patrons. Our monthly sigil rituals have really been pure magic!
This year Rendering Unconscious Podcast celebrated 200 episodes! To mark the occasion, Dr. Lara Sheehi had the splendid idea to interview me for the podcast. That was really sweet and generous of her, and I really appreciated it. Listen in and enjoy:

The final episode of this year was just recently posted:
RU223: NATHAN RICE ON INTEGRATIVE PSYCHOANALYSIS & SELF PSYCHOLOGY
I also encourage you to listen to the previous episode with my dear friend Katy Bohinc. She's an astrologer, poet, and data scientist. Her new endeavor is The Ratio where she is studying astrology using data science. Head over to The Ratio website and find out who your astro twin is! Mine's Anthony Bourdain. You can hear all about the project at:

This year we had our 3rd Psychoanalysis, Art & the Occult conference Visionary Medium: Psychoanalysis and the Magic of Cinema in Copenhagen. For those of you who haven't been to a PsychArtCult conference, these events are always very intimate, and the audience members are just as important as those presenting. There is a lot of time for socializing and Q&A/ discussion, as the cross-pollination between fields, idea generation, and inspiration are really what these events are all about. Those who attend leave with long-lasting friendships, making connections that foster future collaborations. Huge thanks to all those who participated this year!
Special shout out to Swedish artist River, who exhibited her artwork at the event and whose art graced the cover of the conference program. High-quality limited edition prints of her artwork are available via Trapart.
My artwork is also available via Trapart. And I started an Etsy store this year! Check out Trapart Unique Works at Etsy.
My new film with Carl Abrahamsson Reseduction had its world premiere at Visionary Medium, and is available to view at Vimeo on Demand.
Our online Psychoanalysis, Art & the Occult series at Morbid Anatomy Museum continued throughout 2022. You can visit www.psychartcult.org to view past and upcoming events.
The next event in the series is coming up January 15th:
Uncertain Places and Strange New Worlds: A Live, Online Talk with Occult Scholar Mitch Horowitz, Dr. Vanessa Sinclair, and Carl Abrahamsson
The Fenris Wolf 11 was published this year! Co-edited with Carl Abrahamsson, this book collects together the papers from our 2nd PsychArtCult conference Re-writing the Future: 100 Years of Esoteric Modernism & Psychoanalysis, Merano 2019, and features my art as the cover art.
My edited collection Psychoanalytic Perspectives on the Films of Ingmar Bergman: From Freud to Lacan and Beyond was also published this year. This book has been in the works since Bergman's centennial in 2018, so I'm extra happy that it is finally out in the world.
My collage-work is featured in The Trapartisan Review, Issue 1 edited by Carl Abrahamsson, which also includes a selection from my upcoming Burroughsian-style cut-up novel Things Happen.
I had 4 albums come out this year! All collaborations with sonic mastermind Pete Murphy, 2 of which were just released this week. They are available at Bandcamp (free download/ name your price):
Variation Of Chaos
The Sexual is Provocative
Night of the Hunter
I also contributed to two compilations:
Sombre Soniks' Dark Ambient vol. 23
Not in my Future: A Tribute to Genesis Breyer P-Orridge
This year I taught a course on The Unconscious Act: Theories of Repetition in Psychoanalysis and Philosophy for Global Centre for Advanced Studies (GCAS).
I was interviewed with Carl Abrahamsson for Fruit of the Spirit magazine.
I was also interviewed by Carl Abrahamsson for Trapartisan Radio.
In addition to Denmark and various locations around Sweden, I traveled to France this summer for a wedding, as well as to Germany twice. I gave a talk on ancestor veneration at Occulture conference in Berlin, and presented The Tenderness of the Cut at Kestner Gesellschaft in Hannover, as part of the exhibition that other world, the world of the teapot. tenderness, a model.
And last, but certainly not least, Linnea joined us this year! She's a Samoyed puppy and just turned 7 months old.
I think that's all for now. Looking forward to what's to come in 2023!
