Enhanced SI Update by
Earlier this month I was lucky enough to go to a training workshop by Puente. During the workshop we focused on our own learning outcomes and how that can aid us as SI leaders or tutors. We talked about the person or event that changed the way we viewed our education or the way we learn. We all shared a sentence or two about our own experiences, all sharing a common theme of support. We were taught that as SI tutors we are there as a student resource and being part of academic support to students. We went more in depth about the resources that Cabrillo has to offer. Personally, I found the workshop very informative and made me feel more prepared for this semester.
Cabrillo/CSUMB Transfer Student Highlight with Eron Paige Opdyke
I am so grateful to have attended Cabrillo College for my degree in Kinesiology. The 2+2 Program was an integral part of my transfer to CSUMB last spring. The entire staff and students of the 2+2 Program were supportive, helpful, and continuously motivating! CSUMB counselors have extended that ease into the last two semesters by making sure I am on track and taking the correct classes for my end goal. I plan to continue my education at CSUMB past getting my Bachelor's in Kinesiology and go on to get my Master's in Social Work so that I can become an emotional and physical counselor.
