May 2023 vol. 3

When anyone asks what my favorite part of a house is, I respond without pause.   The kitchen is my absolute favorite part of every house.  I love the swoon-worthy appliances, gorgeous Corian countertops, and a deep sink. But the main reason I love the kitchen is because it’s the gathering place for family.

When my kids come home from college, I’ll always find at least one of them at our kitchen island morning, noon, or night.  My husband and I love to use our kitchen as an office so that we can spend a little time together during our busy day.  Our family dog, Graycie, loves to hang out in the kitchen and help us “clean up” dinner every night. I value connection above all else. That’s why I love a good kitchen where family and friends can connect.

Now, that being said, as a realtor, I know dreams of a large kitchen can seem pie in the sky.  The homes in our area don’t always allow for a huge island where friends and family can gather. And some may be a bit dated, shall we say.

A kitchen remodel can feel overwhelming and intimidating, but fear not!  I’m a realtor first and foremost, but my passion is in home design and architecture.  My former company Third + Bay transformed homes that had potential and turned them into my client’s dream.

I am here to help you figure out what walls can go, where you can sneak some space, and guesstimate on costs.  That’s the advantage to having me as a realtor. I can help you see the hidden potential in homes others may take a pass on.

“A kitchen is a good place to be, almost always the best place in the house.” – Michael Ruhlman

While being your expert realtor is my day job, renovating homes is my passion.  Through my former company, Third + Bay, I renovated quite a few homes.  Now when I tour properties with buyers I can see all the potential they hold.  I see walls coming down, paint colors being changed, and windows being added to bring in more light. The possibilities are truly endless.

A Lake House in Winsted, CT…

181 Reverknolls Avon, CT

This gorgeous home nestled on the Farmington River was a joy to sell!  Working with the owners to make sure the photographs and videos perfectly showcased all that this home had  to offer is why it went under contract almost as soon as it went on the market.
