SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS & PROGRAMS
Join us for a special family storytime at Central Valley Fire Department Station #1 on Thursday, May 4 at 10:15 AM to celebrate International Firefighters’ Day! All ages welcome. Station #1 is located at 215 Wings Way in Belgrade (near the airport). Please note that we will not have separate Babies and Books and Preschool storytimes at the library that week (May 4 and 5).
Ever wanted to learn about digital art creation? If so, then please join us for the first of a regular monthly teen series on Tuesday, May 16 from 5-6 PM. We'll be drawing a superhero on Procreate using the library's iPads! Participants can print any work they might create during the program for free, and we'll also send it to you digitally!
Snacks will be provided. Sign-up limited to 5 teens (unless we have teens who are able to bring their own device), ages 12-18/grades 6-12, so sign up soon!
Give Virtual Reality (VR) a try! Show us your VR skills with some teen VR game time on Tuesday, May 25 from 5-6 PM! As always, we’ll have snacks. All teens ages 12-18/grades 6-12 welcome. Tell a friend, and we’ll see you then!
ONGOING ADULT PROGRAMS
Our latest Crafternoon take-home kit is more of a tool than a start-to-finish craft - a Flower Press! This is perfect for nature lovers and craft enthusiasts alike. This flower press gives you the ability to preserve your favorite flowers and leaves for use in various arts and crafts projects. Wandering through fields and picking wildflowers is required!
NO YOGA May 16. We are also adding a lunch hour yoga this summer! Starting June 1, we’ll have another yoga session Thursdays from 12-1PM.
ONGOING YOUTH PROGRAMS
Did your child get to participate in one of our most popular programs - our K-6 Friday afternoon Art Clubs with the Bozeman Art Museum (BAM)? Join us this month on Friday, May 5 for the last day of fun with BAM for the school year. Sign up as soon as possible to ensure your child's spot!
The May Friday Afterschool Club schedule kicks off on May 5 with Art Club with the Bozeman Art Museum (BAM). Please sign up online as noted above. Following weeks will include LEGO Club (May 12), Domino Topple Club (May 19) and Puzzle Club (May 26).
All clubs take place on Fridays after school from 2:30-4:00PM, unless otherwise noted, and are for children grades K-6.
Please note that Get Up & Move on May 3 will begin at 11 AM instead of 10:15 AM so that everyone is able to attend the library groundbreaking at 10:30 AM! Join us at 205 E Main if you are interested! Please be aware that parking is limited.
Join us for our monthly tour of Central Valley Fire District Station 1! This will take place on the 4th Friday of every month at 4 PM (“Fourth Friday Fire Station Tour at Four”). CVFD Station 1 is located at 215 Wings Way! Sign up online for a tour in the coming months at the link below:
Teens (ages 12-18/grades 6-12) are invited to attend our Teen Advisory Group business meetings, at which we discuss programs that community teens are interested in, and anything else that they have on their minds. Snacks are always served, of course, and no prior experience is needed, nor sign up. A bonus consideration: participating in TAG business meetings can count toward volunteer hours!
In April we had a productive TAG Business Meeting where we talked about lots of ideas for the summer months! We will postpone having another TAG Business Meeting until June 6 at 5:30 PM. Please mark your calendar!
Digital Resource of the Month: World Book Online
Who grew up with World Book Encyclopedias in your library? Well, now you and your kids have access to that same information and more with World Book Online. All you need is your Belgrade Community Library card. There are topics, dashboards and interactive activities for all ages. Learn more about World Book and our other databases!
Senior Tech Assistance
The library hosts technology open hours at the Belgrade Senior Center on the second Friday of the month, starting at 12:45PM. This time is open to all seniors to ask about their tech issues or questions. Our next technology open hours will be held on May 14. Please bring your laptop and/or mobile device.
Having issues with your device? We can help.
One of the unique services the library provides is Book-A-Tech. You can book a 30-minute session with a library staff member to help guide you in troubleshooting issues with your device. Set up an appointment below or call us at
