The American Academy of Pediatrics published an updated version of their safe sleep recommendations this month. Click here to read the Policy Statement. The publication includes each recommendation along with the strength of the recommendation and a table outlining the Safe Sleep Guidlelines that have been substantially revised since the 2016 guidelines. To read the new Safe Sleep Guidelines, click here.

Community Parent Resource Fair

In Leon County, Florida BH IMPACT partnered with Second Harvest of the Big Bend for The Great Diaper Drive. Distribution of diapers collected in the drive will continue throughout the summer at the Community Parent Resource Fairs. Future dates and locations can be found on the poster shown. Thank you to Dr. Deichen Hansen for her leadership in this effort with the community! LGBTQIA+ Resources for Providers

The National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center provides learning resources, technical assistance, CME/CEU and more for providers looking to optomize the quality of care they provide for LGBTQIA+ people. Click here to visit their website.
The Trevor Project is the world's largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people. They offer resources and counselors that can be reached by cll, text, or chat.

At UCSF, the Center of Excellence for Transgender Health aims to advance health equity for trans and gender non-binary communities through training, community-led research, and a biennial National Transgender Health Summit. To view their resources, click here.

In Florida, June is now Responsible Fatherhood Month!
At, dads and families can find information about activities to do together, how to build strong families, school suport tips, and resources for mental health and personal resilience. 
For practitioners and family or fatherhood programs, offers the Responsible Fatherhood Toolkit, tools for programs working with dads, and more. The site also has research reviews, webinars, and information specifically for supporting dad.
