Exhibit runs from October 25th - November 4th

We encourage all community members to construct a mini altar out of a shoe-box or larger and decorate it however they'd like.

Please drop off Altar by Saturday Oct. 20th to have on display during the exhibit.

Need some idea's of what you can include in your mini altar?
Sugar Skulls - The colorful designs represent the vitality of life and individual personality.
Seeds - Pumpkin seeds or amaranth seeds are offered as snacks for the visiting ancestral spirit
Monarch butterfly -  which migrate to Mexico each fall, were believed to be the spirits of the ancestors coming to visit.
Papel picado Delicately decorated tissue paper represents wind and the fragility of life.
Dogs - they're were believed to guide the ancestral spirits to their final resting place in the afterlife.
Candles - represent fire and are a light guiding them back to visit the land of the living.

What does Family look like to you?
Open Art Exhibit from
 Nov. 8th - Dec. 1st
This is an open submission exhibit, where we'll be accepting all types of Art from Paintings, Sculptures, Mixed Media, Drawings, etc. This Exhibit will be centered around - What does your Family look like? What does Family mean to you?
