“Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments, and His paths beyond tracing out!” (Romans 11:33, NIV)
It was a very casual encounter. I was there because I was going to sell something, but God had planned something deeper. I met with a man who wanted to buy what I was selling through an online sales app. The Lord in His rich wisdom, had me in the right place at the right time with the right words. I had been meditating on several Scriptures earlier in the day, and that afternoon, most of the verses I had been pondering came out in our discussion. The man was a fellow Christian who had been struggling with several things in his life, and the verses served as a reminder to both of us who exactly is in control.
During an eventful week with the siege of Afghanistan, quakes in Haiti, the resurgence of COVID-19 regulations (due to the Delta variant), we could get weighed down, and easily carry this stuff into our conversations. With all the turmoil in this world (including personal trials), it is all too easy to lose focus on the Lord and mope around and complain. God knows exactly what He is doing in all these things, and my new Christian friend from the transaction couldn’t express how utterly amazing God’s wisdom, knowledge, and ways are. The Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials, and He knows how to use these same trials to make us mature and complete.
Join me in asking the all-wise King for a heart set on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Because when God equips you with an unwavering eternal perspective, you never know how He may use you to impact the lives of others who need hope.
