The Prenatal Infection Prevention Symposium (PIPS) is a virtual collaboration of health care professionals, researchers, families, and other interested individuals working towards minimizing the burden of miscarriages, stillbirths, preterm births and babies sick at birth due to prenatal infection. We welcome everyone with an interest in prenatal health, as your contribution is valued.

During the holiday season, more people come in contact with you and your baby. One study found that "hand hygiene and environmental cleaning remain the cornerstones of infection prevention and control; therefore, it must be practiced consistently particularly in busy times."

If you are pregnant, the holidays can be a great time to satisfy your cravings. Remember to use caution to avoid the risk of foodborne illness that can also harm your unborn baby. Make sure you eat healthy food that is prepared safely, heated appropriately, and stored safely or discarded. You should also make sure you follow proper handwashing techniques.

If it's your little one's first holiday season, help him or her stay healthy! Make sure everyone who handles your baby is healthy and has washed their hands. It is also important to know the signs of infection. Talk to your health care provider.

Thank you to everyone who supported GBS awareness during #GivingTuesday! With your help, we were able to raise $1,763!
Thank you to everyone who participated as every dollar raised sends a GBS info packet to expecting parents and care providers! Through this we hope to bring awareness to more people, so babies can get the best care possible!

Know someone that needs a GBS info packet or would like one of your own? Let us know by emailing info@gbs-intl.org
