Group B Strep International
Promoting awareness and prevention of GBS disease in babies before birth through early infancy
May is a month for mothers! We want to recognize all mothers, but especially group B strep moms. This is a group who has known fear and worry and in some cases loss. Mother's Day can be a struggle for some, but we want to honor all mothers. To them we say: your struggle is valid and your role as a mother is valid. We thank you for your dedication to the cause of GBS awareness and prevention.

I Run for Cora

"The pain experienced from the loss of a loved one is totally subjective. However, there are communities of people that share pain brought on by the same root cause. Prenatal-onset GBS is our root cause and we know we're not alone. I Run For Cora is a campaign to help raise money and awareness for Prenatal-onset GBS in the name of our niece, Cora Faye Lewis, who passed on 2/27/16. If I Run For Cora prevents just one family from joining this community, we've succeeded and have done so while honoring Cora. Thank you to GBSI for the platform and tireless work!” - Clayton and Morgan George

Clayton George will be will be racing in six (6) ultramarathons in 2021, all of which will be used to leverage this fundraiser and spread awareness in Cora's name.

The WAVES Study

We want to identify the gaps in care and communication surrounding GBS disease.

To do this we need your help! We are asking both mothers who have had a baby infected with GBS and those who have not to share their experiences in this survey if they have conceived on or after January 1, 2003. Please share the link with your contacts and social media. Together we can wave goodbye to GBS disease!
