Promoting awareness and prevention of GBS disease in babies
before birth through early infancy
As we move forward into August, we want to thank everyone who participated in our July awareness month! It is supporters like you who have been trailblazers for the changes made around GBS disease.

GBSI has sponsored July as International Group B Strep Awareness Month for over a decade and we are looking forward to more strides in GBS awareness and prevention!

Revised GBS Guidelines

The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) each released updated guidance for perinatal group B strep disease affecting areas such as the timeline for testing and early-onset risk assessment strategies.

Special thanks to Dr. Karen M. Puopolo, lead author of the Academy’s revised management guidelines for prevention and management of neonatal GBS disease, for presenting on the Revised GBS Guidelines for our online GBS conference.

  • Savannah and Claire for raising $207.50 for GBSI in honor of Finley and GBS Awareness Month – thank you!

We want to utilize the power we have as a community. Any initiative, big or small, can make an impact. Together, we can be the change we want to see surrounding group B!
