SUPPORTING FAMILIES DURING CHALLENGING TIMES
Like everyone else, the entire ALLMemphis team has closely followed the news and information about COVID-19 and its impact on our community. Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected so far, and we have been actively developing ways that we can support students and parents during this unprecedented time while schools are closed and other activities are temporarily suspended.
Sincerely,
-ALLMemphis Team

ALLMemphis Goes ALL Digital
Even though schools are closed, it's important for students to continue working toward their reading benchmarks and goals. We understand that it might be a little overwhelming for parents to try to help their children with this. That's why, beginning March 24, we've been offering our signature ALLMemphis reading instruction online. Parents can follow us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube channel to get access to videos and other resources to make reading a fun, educational part of everyday family life.

ALLMemphis and SCS Team Up to Provide Literacy Lessons on C19TV
In conjunction with offering lessons online, ALLMemphis has partnered with Shelby County Schools to provide our high-quality multisensory foundational literacy lessons to kindergarteners, first-graders, and second-graders on C19TV while schools are closed. C19TV airs three lessons per day, one appropriate for each grade, every Monday through Wednesday, and two weekly lessons are highlighted during “Rise and Read with ALLMemphis” on Saturday mornings between 8-10am as well. The partnership with SCS is in keeping with our recent strategic expansion of our in-school program models, and it allows us to reach students and families who may not have access to digital remote-learning resources.
We are so excited about being able to empower parents with these new distance-learning options. Videos and televised lessons will be archived on both ALLMemphis.org and our ALLMemphis YouTube channel. Please share this information with your network and encourage everyone to follow ALLMemphis on Facebook for updates and access.

ALLMemphis Receives Grant to Distribute School Kits to Students
ALLMemphis has received a $1,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis to assemble and distribute 500 school kits to students at our partner schools and other SCS schools. Each kit will include ALLMemphis-branded pencils, pencil sharpeners (generously donated by 4Imprint USA), magnets, notebook paper, and three of our decodable readers. The content of these kits will be all a student needs to participate in our televised and on-line video lessons. The decodable readers can also be colored to encourage even more interaction with the text! These learning kits will be distributed to students at our current charter school partners and SCS schools. Please contact your school principle to see how your student can get theirs!
Many heartfelt thanks to the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis and 4Imprint USA for making this project possible!

Bridging the gap for ALL Children
ALLMemphis was founded in 2017 to address inequity in access to language and literacy instruction, and we remain deeply committed to educational equity during this uncertain and unprecedented time. Our mission – to make previously exclusive reading instruction methods available to every child in our community, regardless of their household’s income or whether they have access to a computer or the internet – hasn’t changed, and we need your help now more than ever.
Did you know?
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act creates two new tax benefits for people who donate to nonprofits. The first is a deduction of up to $300 for charitable gifts available to those who do not claim itemized deductions on their federal income tax returns. The second change temporarily suspends the limit on how much a donor can deduct in charitable gifts in a single year.
Do you believe that ALL children, across ALL socioeconomic levels, have the right to learn and read – no matter which side of the digital divide their family might be on? Take advantage of these new tax benefits to support our work during the current public health emergency and beyond. Donate to ALLMemphis today!
