HRH The Duke of Edinburgh
It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of HRH the Duke of Edinburgh. We send our deepest condolences to the Royal Family at this sad time.

Due to Covid-19, Books of Condolence will not be available for the public to sign in person. A national online Book of Condolence has been opened for people to pay their respects, at www.royal.uk/.

Buckingham Palace has issued the following statement for members of the public who wish to pay their condolences and lay floral tributes:

'The Royal Family have the safety and wellbeing of the public in mind during these challenging times. The Family therefore ask that anyone wishing to express their condolences does so in the safest way possible, and that the public not gather at Royal Residences.

In accordance with public health advice, members of the public are asked to continue to follow the current Government coronavirus guidelines, particularly on avoiding meeting in large groups and on minimising travel, to keep themselves and others safe.

Members of the public may wish to consider making a donation to a charity of their choice, or one of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Patronages in memory of His Royal Highness, instead of leaving floral tributes.'

Day Centre Refurbishment Complete

We are pleased to say that the building work to refurbish the former Day Centre has been completed. Those who have used the centre before will be able to see just what a transformation has taken place!

It has certainly been a busy few months with work including; asbestos removal, repairs to the roof, updates to the heating system and electrics, new flooring, lighting and doors, a thorough repainting and new paving to the entrance area outside.

Where the former Day Centre had several disused and run-down rooms, we now have a smart, modern meeting room available for hire by the community and a new parish office, complete with a reception area for visitors.

We are delighted with the results and look forward to welcoming residents when it is safe to do so.

In line with Covid-19 restrictions, we are currently closed.
Annual Parish Meeting
The Annual Parish Meeting (APM) will take place on Wednesday 28th April at 7pm via zoom. All are welcome to join and find out what has been going on in the the community since we held our last meeting in 2019. There will be presentations from the Parish Council and voluntary groups as well as an open forum.

Although the APM will look and feel different as it will be held remotely, we hope many of you will still join us and the evening will still capture some of the usual community spirit.

Originally scheduled for later in May, the meeting has been brought forward so that it may be held remotely and to allow us to say some goodbyes and some thank yous to long serving Councillors and volunteers.

Great British Spring Clean
The Great British Spring Clean will begin next month, running from 28th May - 13th June 2021. Set up by Keep Britain Tidy, this year's campaign is aiming to cover one million miles as part of the Million Mile Mission to clear litter from our streets, parks and beaches.

If you would like to get involved, or are willing to litter pick throughout the year, the Parish Council has litter pickers, gloves and bags free to borrow and can help with the disposal of any litter collected. Contact clerk@haddenham-bucks-pc.gov.uk to arrange collection of equipment from the Parish Office in advance.

To all those who have already been in touch and carried out litter picks around the village, we would like to say a big thank you for helping to keep Haddenham clean!
