Gourmet Dinner Stations
You’ve probably heard about DINNERS FOR KIDS, the amazing grassroots program that feeds school age kids in the Wyoming Valley nutritious dinners six nights a week, year round. Entirely volunteer driven, this program, based out of Ollie’s Restaurant in Edwardsville and Metz Culinary Management on the Misericordia University campus, feeds children who otherwise would skip dinner or have a bag of chips because they don’t have anyone who is able to provide dinner for them.
While the dinners only cost about $2.50 each to produce, and are packaged and delivered to the children’s homes by volunteers, it costs about $125,000 a year to feed 160 at-risk children. We are constantly looking for grants and funding opportunities, and in order to celebrate our 9th year of providing DINNERS FOR KIDS, we’re having a dinner to celebrate on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at 5:30 pm at Misericordia.
We’d like to invite you to the dinner, and we ask you to support our program with a sustaining contribution so you can help provide DINNERS FOR KIDS too. You have many opportunities on the enclosed form to be generous to the children in our community with an ad in our DINNERS FOR KIDS program book, sponsoring a food station, or becoming a sponsor (Please see the link to the sponsor form below).
At this year’s dinner we’re honoring Misericordia University, Dr Thomas (MU President) and Vanessa Botzman and Joe DeVizia. Please consider applauding them with an ad in the journal or a sponsorship for our dinner.
You don’t have to know how to cook, you don’t need to crack an egg or turn on the oven to help kids in our community have a nutritious dinner all week long. Just fill in the form and send in a check and you’ll be bringing a smile to a child in your neighborhood. They may have a single parent who works evenings, they may be raised by a grandparent who isn’t able to provide a good meal throughout the week. They may be in a home where they are in the care of an older sibling each evening who isn’t able to prepare dinner. They are counting on your generosity to provide what most of us take for granted – a dinner each night.
Thanks in advance for helping, and we hope to see you on March 31!

Founded nine years ago by David and Edna Tevet, Dinners for Kids has provided more than 300,000 meals to food insecure children in the Greater Wyoming Valley. Currently more than 160 children receive 6 dinner meals each week, 52 weeks per year, delivered to their homes by volunteers at no cost to their families.
How is this possible? It is thanks to the financial support of our community and the many volunteers who package and deliver the meals.
