 Trunk or Treat Is Saturday!
 

Grab your little goblins and come enjoy this FREE event on October 30th hosted by our partner HDGHA. Kids can pick a free costume while supplies last and join in the trunk or treat parade through the Somerset Manor neighborhood, plus jam to DJ music and even hop on a hayride! COVID-19 vaccinations will also be available courtesy of West Cecil Health.

November SUCCESS Class to Focus on Healthy Eating

If you enjoy eating but are concerned about your health, don't miss this session. Whether you're worried about your weight, blood pressure, sugar level or energy, the tips and recipes on this class menu will give you great info to help you feel good about monitoring your food intake. Household Hazardous Waste Day Is Nov 6


Household hazardous waste (HHW) is any leftover material that is corrosive, toxic, ignitable, or reactive. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the average home may have as much as 100 pounds of HHW in basements, garages, and storage closets.

If you have HHW left over, please dispose of it properly. The last Harford County HHW acceptance day for 2021 is November 6 at the Harford Mulch & Compost Facility, 3139 Scarboro Road, Street, MD 21154 8am-12 noon. There is no charge for residents with only HHW materials.

FREE Fall Painting Class
 

On November 13 The Havre de Grace Arts Collective Youth Program will present a free painting class for kids. Learn the shapes of different trees and leaves and how to paint them. Create a wonderful Autumn scene or a magnificent painting of a few single leaves. Use acrylics on canvas or poster paints on paper. Registration required.

Questions About the COVID-19 Booster?

The CDC has authorized a 3rd dose of the COVID-19 vaccine for some Americans, including those with a health condition that severely weakens their immune system such as:

  • Organ transplant recipients
  • Current treatment for blood and lymph cancers (leukemias and lymphomas) and most other types of cancers requiring chemotherapy
  • Stem cell transplant recipients
  • Advanced HIV infection
  • Active treatment with medications that weaken components of the immune system, including 20 or more milligrams/day of prednisone or comparable steroid medications, TNF blockers, and other medications that impair response of the immune system
  • Primary immunodeficiency diseases (e.g., DiGeorge, Wiskott-Aldrich syndromes)
  • Severe renal disease

Building Strong Families Program Open for Registration

Building Strong Families is a new service developed in cooperation with Harford County Public Schools and funded by a grant from the United Way of Central Maryland (UWCM). 

Participants receive FREE family coaching that helps children stay in the schools they know and assists parents with gaining elf-sufficiency. Registration is open to Harford County families with at least one enrolled school aged child.
