Last Call for MidAmerica Regional Assembly

This is the last call to attend the MidAmerica Regional Assembly which will be held in St. Louis, Missouri, April 5-7, 2019. The keynote address will be presented by UUA President, Susan Frederick-Gray, and there will be multiple workshops. RE Valentines Celebration - This Saturday!

The RE Team will be holding a Valentine's Day Celebration at UUFCM from 4:15-6:00 p.m. this Saturday, February 16th. All youth are welcome to join us in making cookies, playing games, doing crafts, and decorating Valentines for the congregation!

This Saturday, February 16

This Saturday, February 16, from 6-10 p.m. at Jameson Hall (just east of Isabella Road off Pickard at 5142 Bud Street), all members, friends and guests of UUFCM are invited to a family dance. There is no cost – just accepting donations to cover the rental of the building. Bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverage if you would like. Pull out those dancing shoes and come join the fun!

Special Offering Collection - Sunday, February 17

This Sunday a special plate collection will be taken to support the work of MUUSJN, the Michigan Unitarian Universalist Social Justice Network. MUUSJN is a very active state-wide network of Unitarian Universalists and allies who work together for progressive change. Its mission is to foster the worth and dignity of people by promoting social justice and community service. You can see a list of Highlights of 2018 MUUSJN Accomplishments to get a feel for what MUUSJN does. If you prefer to write a check, please address it to MUUSJN. If you wish to have your own membership, there are membership application materials in the Fellowship Hall.

Budget Hearing - Sunday, February 17

This Sunday’s Fellowship Life meeting will include the budget hearing for our 2019-2020 budget and an announcement of the format for the stewardship drive. This budget hearing allows all members and friends to ask questions and/or make comments about the proposed budget.

Arms Around Seeks Drivers

Our caring committee, Arms Around, is looking for a few people who would be able to take recuperating people to their doctor or PT appointments. If you have a car and are available during week days, let Gisela know (989-772-1602; While we don’t have very many requests, we would like to have a list of several people available who could provide such a service. Thank you for your consideration.  

Book Club - February 20

The UUFCM book club is meeting at the fellowship hall the third Wednesday of each month at 12:30 starting in February. Our first book is Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. Bring a lunch and enjoy the discussion.

Welcome to UU Orientation - February 24

This orientation is geared to newcomers, visitors, and those seeking to learn more about Unitarian Universalism and this UU fellowship. It is offered every month on the last Sunday (following worship) at 12:00 p.m. Sessions run approximately ninety minutes. Young Adult Potluck - February 24

We would like to welcome all UUFCM's young adults to our Young Adult Potluck from 5-6:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 24th. Kendra Peffers will be bringing the main dish this month, and everyone else is invited to bring a favorite side dish/snack/dessert!

The Central Michigan University International Film Festival will be held the week of February 13-17 at three local locations. There are multiple excellent films, including some that address the various social justice issues that we support.
