Welcome Celebration for Drew

Many UUFCM members and friends attended the reception held to welcome our new minister, Drew Frantz, on Sunday, September 1, after the worship service. There was lots of food, lots of conversation, and many people had the chance to meet Drew for the first time.

Worship Matters

We will gather this Sunday, September 8 to worship together with our new minister Drew Frantz, who will present “The Water Ceremony.” We hope you will join us.

The annual Water Ceremony has special meaning for Unitarian Universalists, as we symbolically mingle water into a common bowl. Some people bring actual water from a place important to them, or water that has significance for them; others pour water from a container in the sanctuary. All are invited to share in this ritual of gathering as a sacred community.

If you happen to miss being in worship, the texts to previous sermon messages (and some of the readings as well) can be found in our website sermon archive.

Upcoming Services

September 15: Blessing of Children and Teachers
September 22: Fostering Multicultural Dialogue and Community
September 29: Fight Racism!—with Care!

CUUPs Mabon Ritual - September 22

The 2nd of the harvest festivals, Mabon is the second time of the year to specifically commune with nature. The autumn equinox focuses on the cooler aspects than summer solstice does. The festival is represented by the harvest of corn, along with the other products in your garden that are ready to be harvested.

We invite those of you who are interested in participating in this ritual to bring an item of food or drink to share at the potluck that follows the ceremony. We will gather at 6:30 pm and begin our ceremony promptly at 7:00 pm.

Save the Date: Saturday, October 12

We will have a Plant Sale on October 12, and invite you to share your houseplants and/or perennials when you thin them out. Our garden experts, Brigitte Bechtold and Jim Dealing, will be there to answer any questions you might have. If you plan to participate, please let Gisela Moffit know which plants you are going to bring. All proceeds will go to the Building and Grounds Fund to purchase new bushes and flowers around our building.
