 Summer Decorations Finale
We’ve just about done it; the finishing touches to our contribution to the town’s summer festivities are nearly complete thanks to all the talented, enthusiastic members and friends who have done their bit with such good humour.
Starting with the Jubilee we have kept adding to the red, white, and blue, horses, carriages, national emblems and guardsmen theme.
For the Wells Dressing and Carnival, we made yards and yards of bunting and an exuberant abundance of floral displays.
And for the Festival, a display of music, books and comedy and drama masks for the railings near the Opera House.
We thought we’d call it a day for a month or two and then start thinking about taking it all down and then Christmas but, no, we had other ideas.
For this we are going too need a load of red flowers, approx. 3” in diameter so if you have some red wool, a bit of time and would like to knit or crochet some, please do!
If you would like a knitting pattern or wool, just let Tina know: tel 07768 568 758 or email:

More info next month.
Pavilion Gardens
The Town Team has become the 'host' for the Friends of the Pavilion Gardens (FoPG).

This will be a major ongoing project and there are two main ways in which  members can get involved:
  1. Regular quarterly meetings with HPBC and Parkwood focussing on maintaining the park's heritage qualities and influencing a wide range of local priorities for discussion and priority planning.
  2. Become involved in 'hands on' activities such as Bird boxes, Railings Clean, Serps tidy up (with local schoolchildren).
We hope to soon start doing some remedial tidying up in the Serpentine on Thursday evenings and any member(s) are welcome to join in.

Anyone interested in either aspect please get in touch via email or come along to the next Action Group meeting 27th July 7.30pm at Cheshire Cheese.
If you are planning a Town Team event later in year, that you want to add to the diary, please email me at

If you would like to give feedback on your monthly newsletter we'd love to hear from you, just use the e-mail address above; all feedback is appreciated!

Hope to see you soon,
Andy, Lesley, Caitlin, Emma.
