Your March / April 2020 Newsletter

In light of the ongoing national emergency Buxton Town Team has suspended all events and meetings for the foreseeable future.

This situation is a changing rapidly, so it is difficult to plan ahead with any certainty.  Directors met (virtually) on May 6 and are due to meet again (virtually) on June 17 and will keep you informed of any updates.
The General Meeting will be re-arranged once restrictions are lifted.
The accounts have been agreed - and can be viewed on the Buxton Town Team website.

Hanging baskets
For those of us that are not self isolating this is a chance to get re-involved with the Town Team and help brighten up Buxton now that the hanging baskets at the Waitrose entrance to the shopping centre, adjacent  the River Wye have gone up.
We are seeking volunteers who can commit to one regular day every week. It can be done at your convenience, on the way to or from work, around a regular shopping trip etc . It takes approximately 20 minutes hauling the water by line and bucket from the river - don't worry, it's not too strenuous!    The only day taken so far is Monday.
With little activity at present from the Town Team this is your chance to get involved.

If you are willing and available please contact John Goddard 07397 954980 or and who will be glad to sign you up and explain further if needed.

Buxton in Bloom 2020 - goes online!

Buxton in Bloom is going to be completely online this year as a result of the current pandemic.

The organisers are encouraging everyone to participate, by messaging their entries in to the Buxton in Bloom 2020 Facebook page, and sharing with all who may be interested, so that everyone can view the photos.
The categories are:
  1. Best garden
  2. Best hanging basket / planter
  3. Best school / nursery garden
  4. Best FlowerPot person
Please enter only one photo entry per category (we understand that one photo may not do your garden justice but the competition is being held in an unprecedented time and it will be much easier to judge the winners if there is only one per entry).

Please also include your name, private or commercial plus an email address.

Whoever gets mosts 'likes' is the winner!

The winners will be contacted so that a judge can view their garden in person, adhering to social distancing, and present a certificate. So, have fun with your gardens and we look forward to seeing your submissions !
