COVID-19

In light of the easing of restrictions Buxton Town Team is reviewing its plans and we hope that some projects will soon be able to start up again.

Directors met (virtually) on June 17 and are due to meet again (virtually) on July 15 and will keep you informed of any updates.  The General Meeting will be re-arranged once restrictions are lifted.

The Buxton Town Team website is being developed and updated - with the new version due to be launched later this year - watch this space for more details!
Update
It's good to see more people out and about in Buxton again, while still adhering to social distancing guidelines.

We're also pleased to see Buxton businesses taking a sensible approach to re-opening their doors.

The Town Team, along with a number of other groups in the town, has been discussing how it can help both people and businesses to adjust.  The discussions, facilitated by Buxton Rotary Club, have brought together a broad range of community groups and businesses to discuss and to plan how we can work together to support our shops, businesses, service providers and residents and to ensure the recovery is sustainable.

Now that restrictions are being lifted two Buxton Town Team projects  - The Slopes Team and litter picking team - are hoping to start again after July 1.   Date TBC.
Volunteers will be briefed on the latest advice from the Government and Keep Britain Tidy advice, including distancing, hygiene and looking after equipment.

Ashwood Park

Buxton Town Team is delighted to have received a grant from the Postcode Lottery towards its ongoing work to regenerate Ashwood Park.
The funding will support efforts to increase biodiversity and to encourage more wildlife in the park. The money is specifically to pay for bird boxes and bat boxes, which we hope will encourage more of these animals into the town.
One of our objectives is to make Ashwood Park more interesting, a greater draw, and encourage a greater understanding and appreciation of nature.
The boxes will be installed later in the year so they are acclimatised for use next spring.
