Buxton car club launched
A meeting of the BTT/APTT Business Breakfast Travel Forum organised jointly with DCC in Dec 2019 has led to in enterprising new initiative being set up in the town.
Buxton Car Club - based at Buxton Station - is a joint initiative between car hire company Enterprise and Northern Rail; who were brought together by Buxton Town Team and the Friends of Buxton station.
BTT member Tina Heathcote explains: "Enterprise contacted us to see if we could help locate a suitable place to trial a Car Club in Buxton.
"As a long term goal is to establish an Onward Travel Hub at the station, we scoped a potential area for a couple of parking bays, contacted Friends of Buxton Station who helped us to track down the right people to talk to at Northern Rail – and eventually got the permissions sorted."
Currently two fuel efficient cars, with dedicated parking bays, are available for rental by the hour or the day. There's a special introductory offer for Buxton residents and businesses using the code above. If you join the club, you can access vehicles across the UK, picking up from a convenient street, train station, car park or Enterprise Rent-A-Car Branch.

Did you know that: The average car is parked at home for 80% of the time, parked elsewhere for 16% of the time and in use for only 4% of the time.
