Summer decorations
2022 is a special year not just for the Queen’s Jubilee but also 10 years of Town Team as well as Well dressings, carnival, Festivals, Fringes etc.
We would like to make a special effort to deck the town and need your help.
It’s too chilly to convert the Christmas Barn into the Summer Barn but we thought that some members would like to be making a start at home.
If you would like to knit or stitch,
please contact Ellie: ellen.woolliscroft40@gmail.com
and if you would like to make trees out of pallets (we can supply),
contact Tina: heathcote.foxlow@btinternet.com
It’s early days and we are still planning so if you have some really good ideas – you know where we are!

Fundraising ideas
BTT funds have taken a bit of a hit thanks to Covid so for 2022 we are looking to form a new fundraising committee who could push forward new ideas for raising regular funds.
Each year we raise money to help support what we do but many of the events usually held have not been able to take place.
We would like to get a small team together so if you’re prepared to help and have some ideas of what we could do we would love to hear from you.
It’s also a chance to be involved even if you’re not interested in other, more strenuous activities!
Suggestions put forward include lotteries, a 100 club, coffee mornings and regular charity stalls.
If you can help, please email news@buxtontownteam.org

Review of 2021
Well, the last 12 months has again brought its challenges, with Covid causing further disruption but we have not let it stop us.
A massive thank you to all those who have volunteered and donated their time to support BTT in many ways throughout the year.
There were certainly some notable highlights from 2021 with volunteers able to get back out and about from April to carry out a range of work in Ashwood Park and the Slopes.

At Ashwood Park a new wildflower meadow was very warmly welcomed, and the Japanese cherry blossoms provided an eye-catching display.

Planters on Fairfield Road have again provided a colourful display on the main entrance to the town throughout the year.
Also providing a great floral display during the summer were our planters near the Waitrose entrance to The Springs shopping centre, with a team of volunteers watering daily.

Members of the Access, Parking, Traffic and Transport group (APTT) have been busy putting together the whole town travel plan which went out for consultation. The project is ongoing, and the results are due soon.
They have also been working with councils and organisations to support various sustainable transport initiatives including efforts to encourage walking and cycling to school as well as the introduction of the new Enterprise Car Club.
The team of baublers have been hard at work creating additional festive decorations for the town and this year had help from young people at Buxton Community School who created more snowmen.
In December volunteers planted daffodil and tulip bulbs at the Buxton town entry signs. We hope the donated bulbs will flower in 2022, but if not, hopefully they will in Spring 2023.

Once again thank you all for your support and best wishes for 2022.
