Faith Family,

Pastor Chris has encouraged us and challenged us to make this year a year of prayer. I am encouraged by the heart of our Pastor who is anticipating the Lord to do great things ahead. I have begun a new devotional this year through a book called Be Thou My Vision by Jonathan Gibson. Each morning there are a number of prayers, praises, and scripture passages to read. One of the prayers I read this week was by Saint Patrick and it says this:

I bind myself today:

   To the power of God to guide me.

   To the might of God to uphold me.

   To the wisdom of God to teach me.

   The eye of God to watch over me.

   The ear of God to hear me.

   The word of God to speak to me.

   The way of God to lie before me.

   The host of God to defend me.

   Amen.

There is something beautiful about praying a prayer that Christians have been praying for hundreds of years. I hope by reading this prayer, you are encouraged to seek after God and to lean on his power, might, and wisdom.
