Dear Faith Family,
Many of our students are wrapping up their spring break this week. Some of you may have enjoyed a little spring break vacation with them while others stayed home and enjoyed the time together as a family. It is a wonderful thing to spend time with family whether in your own home or away in some other place. At First Hewitt, we strive to make our faith family feel like a family. We want everyone to feel welcomed and loved by others and for this to be a place that people want to be at.
An exciting thing that we are planning is a family mission trip. This Sunday we are having an interest lunch right after service to see who would be interested in joining on a family mission trip. We believe it is important for individuals to serve within the church but also that families serve alongside one another.
I had an opportunity to serve in Sri Lanka for 4 months and while I was there, I served with an American family who had moved there to reach the people of Sri Lanka. It was a beautiful thing to see each family member serving in some way within that community.
I want to encourage you and your family to consider joining us as we look at a family mission trip opportunity in the future. Think of the spiritual growth your family can have by serving the Lord alongside each other.
Mark 16:15
Then he said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
