Dear Faith Family,
One of my favorite hymns is Blessed Assurance:
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long.
In Scripture, God shows us what He does. He faithfully pursues us, forgiving us again and again, showing us great compassion, mercy & love. He sent His Son to redeem, forgive, and restore us to Himself through His life, death, and resurrection.
God has given us these promises to assure us, just like the hymn says. He is saying that He loves us in such a way that nothing could ever cause Him to forsake us. We need to remember that God’s love is sure and trustworthy.
He not only gives us these promises, but reminds us of what He has done to prove His words are true. He gave His one and only Son for us. He loves us and will see our salvation all the way through to the end, to that day when we will see Him face-to-face. Nothing, not even death, will separate us from His love.
Now it is our turn to show love in action as we truly love others, both inside and outside of our faith family. I want to thank you for showing that love across the world as we give to Operation Christmas Child during this year. Last month, 119 pair of socks were given. Our goal for February, is 100 pair of children’s sunglasses and bead kids. These bead kits can be purchased or made by your family.
I also want to thank the Senior Ministry Teams for sponsoring the Widow/Widower Banquet last weekend. We had 13 widows and 2 widowers present and 35 more gifts to deliver for those who were unable to attend. We had a great time loving on these precious people and look forward to more opportunities to do so.
I am so blessed and pray that for you as well!! See you Sunday!
