Dear Faith Family,

As I think about Mother’s Day this weekend, I remember that Mother’s Day changed for me 44 years ago as a day from being with my mom, to a day of remembering her.  Oh, how she loved Jesus.  Even though she went to Heaven at an early age, I remember her to be funny and as a happy, light-hearted woman who exploded with a joy that came from inside her.  I remember that every morning she asked God to send someone her way so she could tell them about God.   She told everyone that Jesus loved them and how to become a Christian.

When I remember my mother, I remember a happy mother, full of joy.  Her childlike faith in God’s promises never wavered.  She prayed because she had faith in His faithfulness.  She would always say, “Jesus loves you.  Oh, yes. He does.”

As I think about the legacy that she left, I often ask God to help me leave a legacy for our son that is filled with love, joy, and faithfulness, and that I would be remembered as someone that loved Jesus, expressed by the joy in my life.

I know everyone has a story about their mother.  As we celebrate Mother’s Day this weekend, I pray that you will either celebrate your mom or remember her!  I pray that you can say, “Her children rise up and call her blessed.”  Proverbs 31:28

All mothers present for worship will be honored on Sunday and will receive carnations.

See you Sunday!
Susan Malone
We are so thankful for Brandon and Kim Martin!  Brandon serves on our staff and is currently serving as our Interim Worship Pastor.  On Wednesday, April 27th, the Martin's added a little baby girl to their family!  We would like to bless them with a card "shower" with gift cards from Target, Walmart, HEB or cash.

There will be baskets in the foyer the next two Sundays that you may place your card in or drop it by the church office. Help us welcome and bless Baby Girl Martin and her parents on Sunday, May 15 as we present them with these gifts.

Operation Christmas Child (OCC)

Do you want to serve as a missionary throughout the world from Hewitt, TX? The Senior Adult  Ministry is doing just that by collecting items each month for our Operation Christmas Child Boxes.  During May, we are collecting stuffed animals, small sports balls for 100 boxes.  Thanks for your help each month by supporting missions around the world.

Senior Tuesdays

Please join us on Tuesdays from 2-4. We are busy making gifts for children around the world as we fill Operation Christmas Child boxes with a few extra items. We are learning to make beanie hats on a knitting loom, rubber band salvation bracelets, and we will be making jump ropes out of t-shirts. We need donations of old t-shirts. We are also making baby blankets out of loop it yarn to donate to new baby families.

Dominoes & puzzle tables are also available for those who just want to fellowship together.

This Summer, we've got an exciting opportunity for families of all ages and sizes to serve together.  Are you single, retired, a family of 2, or a family of many more?  This trip is for you!

We have worked out a partnership with Glorieta Camps in New Mexico to spend a week (July 2-8) on campus helping them with a variety of projects. Glorieta is an incredible place with a rich heritage of transforming lives with the Gospel.  Our team will mobilize families to help with painting, minor repairs, cleaning, organizing, and any other projects on campus.

It is a beautiful place and perfect for families to serve together!  The cost of the trip will be around $500 per family and less for couples or singles.  This includes:  lodging, food, and supplies.  It doesn't cover the cost of travel to and from Glorieta or any excursions or extra activities while there.  If you'd like more information or to sign up, please fill out the registration form below!

Deadline to register is Sunday, May 8.
