Dear Faith Family,
What a night…
Our night of worship & prayer this past week was absolutely amazing! If you were there, you know what I mean! Coming together to pray for our church, to pray for our families, praising God for his faithfulness…was just a piece of what all happened! God moved! There was a freedom to worship, a freedom to proclaim God’s goodness, a freedom to gather together around those who needed to know they were not alone and that their faith family had their back! The scriptures that Chris brought and shared kept us pointed towards our Heavenly Father and His plans for us. One of the things that stood out to me was how we finished the evening. Chris asked if we could sing “I Speak Jesus” to conclude the night. It was such an awesome way to wrap up the night…to proclaim God’s faithfulness and  "Speak the Name of Jesus" over everything we had spent the evening praying for.  It was truly a special night in the life of 1st Hewitt…God’s people proclaiming together the name of Jesus over all things!
We finished singing that last song together and there was a “peace” in the room. Even after that last song, and an official goodnight, we continued to sing, some continued to pray, some continued to worship and soak up a little more of God’s goodness! There was a sense of “I don’t want to leave this moment just yet”!
We are going to continue these nights of worship and prayer and I can’t wait to see what God does next time.
I Love 1 Thessalonians Chapter 5! There is so much going on in this one Chapter. In fact, one of the most powerful sentences in all of Scripture is found in this small book written by Paul, Silas, & Timothy.
          “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.“
                                                                              1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV
Like I said, there is a lot to unpack in that one sentence.  For now, I just want to leave you with those three words between “Rejoice Always” & “Give Thanks”…”Pray Without Ceasing”.           “He who prays without ceasing uses many little darts and hand-grenades
of godly desire, which he casts forth at every available interval.
Sometimes he will blow the furnace of his desires to a great heat in
regular prayer, and as a consequence at other times, the sparks will
continue to rise up to heaven in the form of brief words, and looks,
           and desires.“
(Charles Spurgeon)
We must be a praying church!
We must be praying people!
Will you join us in 2023 to be a people who strive to “pray without ceasing”?
**I Speak Jesus was written by The ministry collective Here Be Lions.  The worship team/writers  consisted of Dustin Smith,
Jesse Reeves, Carlene Prince, Raina Pratt, Kristen Dutton, and Abby Benton!

When you look at the early church in the New Testament, one of the things that set them apart was their deep sense of community and their abiding passion for the Lord.  They loved God's Word and loved one another well!  These are qualities worth pursuing!

Life Groups are one of the unique environments designed to foster authentic community and fuel spiritual growth.  And, NOW is a perfect time to join a Life Group!  If you aren't in a Life Group, click HERE for a current list of groupst!  We'd love for you to join us!
