Dear Faith Family,

Some of our favorite family memories have been the times we have served together on a family mission trip.  We’ve been to places from Beeville, Texas to Steamboat Springs, Colorado and several places in between.  We’ve hauled wood, led VBS, baked cookies, shoveled mulch, and completed countless other projects.  I’d love to tell you my kids’ favorite thing about a family mission trip is the opportunity to serve others, but that wasn’t the response I received when I asked.  What was the same about all of their responses was how much they enjoyed spending time with the people we met and the people we served alongside.  Shoveling mulch isn’t much fun, but when you’re shoveling mulch alongside other people it’s much more enjoyable.  Serving on family mission trips has also given us the opportunity to form deeper connections with families and individuals from our faith family.  We’ve served alongside other families with kids the same age as ours, kids older than ours, single adults, senior adults, empty nesters, and grandparents serving with their grandkids.  It’s been a blessing to connect with a variety of family units in a setting outside of the church building.  I love that we’ve built these memories while encouraging a heart of serving.

Whatever your family unit may look like, we’d like to invite you to come hear about the opportunity to join us this summer on a family mission trip.  On Sunday, March 13th, after the worship service we’ll be holding an interest meeting in the HUB to discuss the opportunity to serve together as a faith family this summer.  If you’re interested in joining us, please let us know by calling the church office (254.666.2741) or emailing Gayle (  We’ll have pizza and drinks for those who are interested in hearing about this opportunity.

How can you help in the Ukraine crisis?

After 8 years of ongoing conflict, Russia has launched a wide-ranging attack on Ukraine, rolling in tanks and troops into their neighbors to the West. The invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces continues to intensify.  It is possible that this conflict could cause nearly 5 million people to be displaced.  But, how can we help?

Send Relief, a cooperative ministry between the International Mission Board and the North American Mission Board, is working with local Baptist partners and churches in Ukraine, Poland, and other border nations to respond to the crisis.  They are helping with food, shelter, transportation, and hygiene needs.

You can help! There is extraordinary power in prayer.  Click here to access a prayer guide.

You can also give financially through the Send Relief Fund.  Click here to go to the Send Relief website.

Search Team Process

On Wednesday, February 16, our faith family approved a process for selecting our Worship Pastor Search Team.  Our Search Team will be comprised of seven church members.  They will include three members of our Worship Ministry Team, two members of our Personnel Team, and two members who are select by the church at large.

We will use a two part process to decide the two representatives from our congregation who will serve on the team.  Part One is to allow any church member interested in serving on the team to let us know by Monday, March 21.  We will take the complete list of names and allow the church to vote on Sunday, March 27.  Based on the results, 2 church members will serve on the 7 member search team.

If you would like to be considered to serve on the search team, you may indicate that by click here.  Or, you may also express interest by using the form provided in Sunday school classes.
