WEATHER ALERT - SNOW, WIND, ICE, & POWER TO BEGIN THIS EVENING

1/31/2021

Dear Neighbors,

Message From Orange County

Subject: Pending Winter Storm

On behalf of County Executive Steve Neuhaus, I’d like to draw your attention to the pending snowstorm. The Orange County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will be active for the storm starting at 8:00 AM Monday, February 1st through 8:00 AM Tuesday, February the 2nd

Multiple weather forecasting sources agree that our region will likely receive over twelve inches of snow. Precipitation is not the only concern. Wind will exceed thirty miles per hour at times with high temperatures in the twenties.

Snowfall will occasionally exceed an inch per hour, with whiteout conditions. Power outages and motor vehicle accidents may be our main concern during the storm. Snow removal and road clearance are expected to be a problem as accumulations increase.

Sincerely,

Alan Mack
Deputy Commissioner
