Provincial Budgets are now available on vulekamali.gov.za
 

Provincial budget information for 2018 is now available on vulekamali.gov.za. You can find, explore and download the Estimates of Provincial Revenue and Expenditure (EPRE) for all provincial departments for the 2018 MTEF. Vulekamali provides an overview of each provincial department’s budgets and programmes, and makes it easy to download the full EPRE Excel dataset and accompanying PDF.

Add your budget data to vulekamali.gov.za

Join organisations such as SPII, PSAM and the Centre for Child Law by contributing your budget data to vulekamali. The vulekamali website is an exciting opportunity for members of the public, CSOs, academia and business to contribute their own budget data and analysis to the portal, for all to see. Send us your data and analysis and help to promote meaningful engagement with budget information and foster public participation in the budget process.

The budget process - what’s happening in May?

 

What are Treasury, Departments, Parliament and Provincial Legislatures busy with?

  • National Treasury issues budget guidelines to departments requesting budget submissions, including their 3-year expenditure estimates, in accordance with the adopted budget strategy and planned budget process.
  • Departments engage with analysts on departmental budgets and the drafting of budget submissions.
  • Parliament and provincial legislatures review the provincial appropriation bill and each department's budget, including the department's Annual Performance Plan (APP) and Strategic Plan (SP).
