On behalf of the Vestry, I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to the Trinity family! Together, we have navigated uncharted waters these last couple of months. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have had to halt in-person worship, switch to live-streaming our Sunday service and learn Zoom technology for Bible Study, Search Committee and Vestry Meetings and Coffee Hour. Despite these changes, you, our family, have remained committed to supporting Trinity and all our ministries by continuing to fulfill your pledges. We are pleased to announce that through the month of May, we are on budget and financially sound! This could not have happened if it were not for your continued generosity! Thank you!
In-Person Public Worship at Trinity
Rest assured that we are looking to the future and planning for the day that Trinity Church can re-open its doors. At its May meeting, the Vestry formed a Reopening Committee to look at both Diocesan and Trinity requirements to reopen safely and develop a plan for reopening. Some of their recommendations were presented at the most recent Vestry meeting on June 17.
After reviewing the Reopening Committee’s recommendations, the Vestry concluded that many of the current requirements for reopening take away much that we think of and value as “church”:
6 ft. social distancing at all times No singing
Sign-in No Prayer Books or Hymnals
Facemasks required No Communion
Seating by ushers No Coffee Hour
In addition, the Vestry received updated e-mail guidance on Preparing for Stage Two Regatheringfrom Bishops Alan and Gayle, dated June 15th, including the following:
“At this time, based upon epidemiological recommendations, we strongly encourage congregations to refrain from in-person public worship, and to continue virtual opportunities for all aspects of church life until a move to less restrictive policies is indicated by public health considerations.”
After discussing the Reopening Committee’s recommendations, and in light of the Bishop’s most recent guidance, your Vestry has decided not to open our doors to In-Person Worship at this time.
We want to ensure that when we do open, we can all return to Trinity safely, and enjoy the spiritual comfort of as many of our traditions as possible. We will continue to monitor developments and keep you posted on our plans through the weekly newsletter as State and Diocesan restrictions are eased.
Trinity Bridgewater is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Is this the Brady Bunch? No, it's Trinity parishioners enjoying our first "Virtual Coffee Hour" on Sunday May 17th!. Isn't it great that we can still find ways for fun and fellowship, while maintaining social distancing. We know its not perfect, but hey we can still find ways to have fun, even if it is through a computer screen. Thanks to everyone who participates, and we look forward to seeing more faces this coming Sunday. Remember there's always room at the 'table' for you, and you, and you.
