Official Opening of
Port Macquarie Steiner School

The end of last term saw the Official Opening of our fledgling school. Aunty Rhonda Radley gave a beautiful blessing on our school and welcome to country, Mayor Peta Pinson was on hand to 'cut the ribbon', CEO of Steiner Education Australia, Virginia Moller gave words of wisdom, encouragement and support. Our founding mothers were there to see their vision become a reality. So many 'Thank Yous' to so many people involved in making this happen.

Playgroup News
Our new Playgroup Coordinator Kylie Ross, comes to us with lots of experience in Steiner Education, having worked at Manning River Steiner School in Early Childhood Education and Kindergarten. Kylie would like to send a warm welcome to all playgroup families.

It's wonderful to see everyone. Warm bread with honey, a cup of tea and children playing happily in the sandpit. A beautiful morning gathering together in the garden. We have been enjoying our story about the gingerbread man at story time, the children happily gathering on the mat to listen.

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR 2019 SCHOOL YEARS
NOW OPEN

Our school is growing and if you or anyone you know are interested to find out more information about our 2019 intake please contact us. We encourage families to express their interest early so that we can gauge class numbers and allocate our limited number of spaces in these classes. In coming months we will be holding information sessions for families to find out more about Steiner Education and 2019 at Port Macquarie Steiner School. Board News

Port Macquarie Steiner School bids a fond farewell to Alanna Alfaro, our dedicated President of the Board whose tireless work behind the scenes was fundamental in the opening of our school. We would also like to introduce and welcome Peter Newman as our New President of the Board.

Peter's background in management and education is a real asset to our school. To help support our growth, the vision of a permanent home in the Port Macquarie area is paramount. We welcome input from community members and local business to support us in this endeavour and with our school in general. The Board is always interested in talking to people who may be interested in becoming a Board member or helping our school in other ways. All enquires should be directed to Peter 0422 628 854.

The 11th Annual SEA Governance Leadership and Management Conference, with a focus on Building Community: The Power of One, Two and Many was held this month at Chrysalis Steiner School in Bellingen. Several delegates from Port Macquarie Steiner School were able to attend and bring back enriching and valuable insights for our school.
