The ICT4Silver pilots

ICT4SILVER is finalising their assisting phase to the collaborations between the actors / companies that offer ICT solutions and the companies in the SE market and the design of products / services that integrate TIC TFE to respond to the needs of the SE in one of the 5 defined areas of application.

In this newsletter we offer you about the activities carried out in different locations for the testing of the following solutions:

FesiaWalk

Is an electro stimulator device dedicated to people suffering from neurological problems because of a disease or an accident. It is used in rehabilitation centre for people suffering from “falling foot”. It delivers electrical impulses to the nerves of the shin and fibular to induce a dorsal or plantar flexion of the ankle in the corresponding phases of walking. This is a tool coupled with parameterization software which allows to record the patient profile (if interested, you can access to more information about the FesiaWalk pilot activities carried out in France and Portugal).

EC2MI

is an on-line questionnaire which allows to evaluate the quality of life and quality of care in institutions for dependent elderly. This solution can be use by elderly, their family and the health professionals. The questionnaire integrates the topics of food, leisure, intimacy, clothing which are important to do a complete evaluation (if interested about the Kwido pilot activities carried out in France and Portugal).

KWIDO FOR CAREGIVERS

is an application from the company, Ideable Solutions. The Kwido platform allows to store and share health information about patients. Kwido for caregivers provides more autonomy in patients’ medical care. Indeed caregivers, nurses and the patient himself can easily integrate health information and share it with doctors to improve efficiency and prevent emergencies in nursing homes and homecare (if interested about the Kwido pilot activities carried out in France and Portugal).

NEW’EE®

integrates sound within furniture. It broadcasts all kind of audio sources for a great listening comfort. The user benefits from a good sound quality neither using headphones nor increasing the volume. It can be reduced by at least 20 decibels, while ensuring excellent sound quality (if interested, you can access to more information about the NEW’EE pilot activities carried out in Portugal).

What is ICT4Silver?

ICT4SILVER is a project which aims to stimulate the cross-sectoral and transnational development of new innovative products and services using the ICT to respond to the market opportunities offered by the Silver Economy in SUDOE. The project is co-financed by the INTERREG SUDOE Programme.

Why this project?

By 2050, the Territorial Space of SUDOE will have the oldest population in Europe. In view of the aging of its population and the increasing need for products/services adapted to the needs of the elderly, it will be necessary to promote adapted responses in terms of health and maintaining the autonomy of seniors (especially in the rural areas). Another aspect to consider will be the access of its companies to the market opportunities of the Silver Economy.

ICT4SILVER seeks to provide solutions to these challenges of SUDOE.

What are the objectives?

ICT4SILVER aims to stimulate the cross-sectoral and transnational development of new innovative products and services by crossing the needs expressed in the 5 major fields of the application of the Silver Economy (health and medico-social, autonomy of people and home maintenance, housing and urban planning, transport and mobility, and prevention of aging) with the innovation potential of mapped ICT (such as sensors, software solutions, big data, the Internet of objects).

More precisely, ICT4SILVER seeks to create conditions for inter-sectoral and transnational cross-fertilization for a better exploitation of ICT in response to the challenges of the silver economy. Similarly, this project will set up a transnational network of demonstration platforms and real-life tests of 10 demonstrator pilots in real life situations. Finally, ICT4SILVER will create a sustainable and replicable metaclustering methodology, as well as tools, methods and innovation supports capable of stimulating the emergence of multi-sectoral economic development projects; in order to create the conditions for the sustainability of the metacluster and the network of living labs created by this project.
